Vinyl liner pool vs membrane pool
A vinyl liner pool is built from wall panels — FRP or galvanised steel — fixed on a level base. Inside, a PVC membrane is welded together on site to form a single watertight skin. That membrane is what people mean by the 'liner'.
So in our range a membrane pool and a vinyl liner pool are the same system described two ways. The membrane does the waterproofing; the panels and base carry the load. Because the panels are modular, the pool can be almost any shape, size or depth.
We use CGT ALKOR membrane, available in more than 60 patterns and textures, from plain blue to stone and mosaic effects.
Above-ground FRP pools with membrane
Our above-ground pools use the same idea above the ground: an FRP structure lined with a membrane. They need less digging, install quickly and suit compact plots or places where excavation is difficult.
They are a different product from our readymade pools, which are single-piece fibreglass shells usually set in the ground or on a terrace.

Lifespan and liner replacement
A CGT ALKOR liner lasts 12–15 years on average with normal care. The wall structure carries our 10-year structural warranty.
When the liner eventually needs replacing, we strip the old membrane and weld a new one onto the existing walls. It is a much smaller job than rebuilding, and you can choose a new pattern at the same time. Our pool renovation team handles relining for older pools too.

What is a vinyl liner pool?
A vinyl liner pool has FRP or galvanised steel wall panels on a level base, lined inside with a welded PVC membrane — we use CGT ALKOR. The liner is the waterproof, water-facing surface.
Is a membrane pool the same as a vinyl liner pool?
In our range, yes. 'Membrane' is the PVC lining that makes the pool watertight, so a membrane pool and a vinyl liner pool describe the same system. Our above-ground pools also use a membrane, inside an FRP structure.
How much does a membrane pool cost per sq ft?
Our cost guide lists vinyl liner and membrane pools at about ₹1,200–₹2,000 per sq. ft. of water, and above-ground FRP pools with membrane at about ₹800–₹1,500 per sq. ft. Site work and extras are quoted separately.
How long does a vinyl liner last?
A CGT ALKOR membrane liner installed by CreativPools lasts 12–15 years on average. The FRP or steel wall structure is covered by our 10-year structural warranty.
Can the liner be replaced?
Yes. When a liner reaches the end of its life, the old one is removed and a new welded membrane is fitted to the existing walls — usually far less work than rebuilding a pool.
Can a membrane pool be chlorine-free?
Yes. Every CreativPools membrane pool can be paired with mineral, ozone or UV sanitisation, so the water stays clean without harsh chlorine.
